Description
This guide contains three crags, all recently discovered and equipped by Giorgio Delfino. One is the Falesia della Gazzella, equipped in 2016, the other is the Falesia del Mammut, equipped in 2017. The third is the Falesia del Makaco, set by Giorgio Delfino in 2018.
All these areas are very nice and well equipped.
The cliff is a nice wall of excellent rough limestone, with pockets and crimps. The climbing style is slabby, but demanding too.
the routes are of low-medium length, and low-medium difficulty.
It’s good for climbing during the mid seasons, and in summer too, for a half day.
The routes are almost all beautiful, so many unmissable routes are out of the list.
Approach
FROM GENOVA:
Take the highway A10 (Autostrada dei Fiori) direction Ventimiglia and exit at Spotorno. Once at the STOP turn right toward the Tosse town. Pass Tosse and follow the signs to Vezzi-Portio town (that is turn right at the cross-road). Once at Vezzi - Portio, exit from the town and, once at the cross-road to Noli-Manie, turn left following the signs to Noli Mànie. Then continue for about 3Km, up to Voze Voze. Once at the entrance of Voze, turn right following the signs to Località Mànie. The road (SP 45) is first uphill, then flat. After about 4Km, you can see on the left, in a curve, the Camping of San Martino. Continue for other 800m, up to a wide curve on the left, with a small cemetery on the right, and a fork with a small road on the left, with sign to the Trattoria della Grotta. Take this small and narrow road and continue for about 700m. Cross a small bridge near a church. Just crossed the bridge turn left: in short you will arrive at the Trattoria della Grotta, where you can park your car in two widenings, one before the Trattoria, and one after.
FROM PIETRA LIGURE:
Take the A10 highway (Autostrada dei Fiori) direction Genovaand exit at Finale Ligure. Once at the roundabout, follow the signs to Finale and take the downhill road toward this town. Continue for about 1 Km, up a second runabout. Once at the second runabout tue right and continue for about 1Km up to the cross road with the Aurelia road (SS1).
Once at the crossroad with the Aurelia road (SS1), turn left toward the center of Finale Ligure, pass it, and exit from the town. Just exited from Finale, at the runabout before a gallery, turn left toward Calvisio - Vezzi Portio. Continue for about 100m, then turn right uphill, following the signs to Località Le Manie (SP45). Continue uphill for about 4.1 Km. Then the road gets flat. Continue for about 1.7Km. Once at a wide curve on the right (recognizable by the Trattoria Il Gambero Verde, in a deconsacrated church, a small cemetery on the left, and the sign to the Trattoria della Grotta), take the small road on the left to the Trattoria della Grotta and continue as coming from Genova.
