Something about Gole del Velino

Gole del Velino

This crag consists of two areas. The main area, named "Arecibo", is the more comfortable and friendly. the second one, named "Superattico", is uncomfortable, but at the same time more fascinating and secluded, because it rises above an exposed ledge.

The wall is mainly overhanging, and rarely lacking in holds, thus making climbing fluid and pleasant, even in the hardest routes.

The lines have been found making the most of the natural conformation of the wall. Thus you can often find traverses or weird passages, which exalt the aesthetic gesture.

Due to the conformation of the wall, some routes have been split into two pitches, often separated by small ledges or good rests, where, if you decide to go up to the top, you are advised to pay attention to your rope, because the length of two concatenated pitches is often much more than 30 meters.

This conformation of the wall, together with the fact that the wall is constantly overhanging, makes this spot good for climbing even when it rains.
