Description

The crag of Cava Orsini was equipped by di mountain guide Tiziano Cantalamessa and Tito Ciarma in 87/88. The climbing is various: slab, corner, cracks, roofs, and some slightly overhanging route too. The location is poorly attended and suggestive. This crag is recommended in the mid seasons and, during the sunny days, in winter too.

All the routes have been completely re-equipped in  2009/2010 by Marco Nardi.

Approach

From the motorway Ascoli-sea exit to  “Ascoli Centro (Porta Cartara)”. Once at the roundabout fo to the right. After about 300 m there is the sign to Colle San Marco. Once at this sign go uphill to the right, up to a plain. Shortly after passing the built-up area of Piagge, there is  Piana di S. Marco. Pass the Bar Restaurant Il Cacciatore, and go to the left up to the end of the straight road. After a left turn and before a cottage, take a little uphill bumpy road, up to a  widening to the right. If you don’t have an off-road car, park there.
