Description

The Crag is a volcanic rock called "Peperino delle Alture". It offers a fine grain and a big grip in most of the routes, and a battle with technique and feet confidence will be a must…just a difference between go hard or go quietly. You’ll find a slabby movement and smooth crimps or  hard and boulder movements with small crimps or pockets.

 

WARNING The crag is placed inside a wild and picturesque forest (look at Holly Tree because this is a protected species), where it is not unusual to see animals like porcupines, fallow deer and wild boars, while constant is the presence of birds of prey. The paths are also used by hikers, hunters and Forestry, for control of the nearby”Arcionello” regional parks and the “ZPS MONTE CIMINO NORTHSIDE”. Even so, we invite you to a CIVIL BEHAVIOR, with the leave no trace spirit ethics - Respect Wildlife -Plan Ahead and Prepare - Dispose of Waste Properly - Be Considerate of Other Visitors – Don’t Camp – Don’t make a campfire- Leave What You Find -



Approach

From Highway A1 Roma-Firenze Orte exit

At the higway exit, at the roundabout take the second exit and go straight on, go out on Orte-Viterbo highway and continuing for 20km. When you’ll see a road sign Grotte Santo Stefano – Bagnaia you must exit. Once you exit the highway, turn right towards Bagnaia, you’ll find a large roundabout, continue straight on for 3 km (pass the railway) until you reach the village of Bagnaia. When you’ll see an intersection with the main road, turn left surpassing the railway crossing, and you’ll arrive in the main square. Pass the traffic light and another railway, follow the curve and turn right at the end of it  into the parking.(FOUNTAIN FOR WATER SUPPLY). Go straight uphill Costa Volpara road for 2 km until the paved road ends and dirt path start, continue for 400m and park in a long open space in the left. You will parking here without giving trouble to the main road (used by local residents).
