Description

Crag born in the late  80s and early ' 90s by Stefano Finocchi, Francesco Segagredo, Toffa  and other climbers of the time. The first routes were bolted and chipped on the extremely compact slabs of Petrella making it one of the most selective crags of central Italy. The climbing is characterized by violent closures of holes more or less generous, exactly in line with the style of climbing of the openers. From 2005 some Romans climbers exploited the right side of the pine forest opening the easiest routes of the crag. Today, the cliff has about 70 routes from 5b to 8b+.

Approach

Prendendo  l’autostrada Roma-L’Aquila si esce a Tagliacozzo. Una volta arrivati a Tagliacozzo si seguono le indicazioni per Petrella Liri. Nei pressi della piazza di Petrella Liri seguire la strada che sale sulla sinistra e parcheggiare sulla destra quando la stessa inizia a scendere. Dopo aver parcheggiato tornare indietro e seguire la salita a sampietrini che conduce all’inizio del sentiero.

Per chi proviene da l’Aquila o  da Pescara uscire ad Avezzano e prendere subito dopo la superstrada Sora-Cassino.  Uscire dopo la prima galleria a Capistrello e seguire le indicazioni per Castellafiume e successivamente per Petrella Liri. Nei pressi della piazza di Petrella Liri seguire la strada che sale sulla sinistra e parcheggiare quando la stessa inizia a scendere. Dopo aver parcheggiato tornare indietro e seguire la salita a sampietrini che conduce all’inizio del sentiero.
