Qualcosa su Santa Croce

Description

It is the smallest crag of this guidebook, consisting in an inclined slab 10 m tall where climbers will find short easy routes, bolted by Andrea Negrin between 2008 and 2013. The distance between bolts is ideal for absolute beginners, especially on the shortest routes.

Despite the presence of the Trieste-Venice railway, there are nice views on the Trieste Gulf and climbers can find here a quiet and familiar place.

The routes are equipped with 8 and 10 mm bolts, in good state in spite of they are home-made. Belays are good (two 10 mm bolts and chain) except two (on trees).

All routes have no name at the start.

Approach

From Sistiana and Monfalcone, follow the National n. 14, 1km after the natural tunnel (Costiera Crag, 3 km from Sistiana) turn left and follow up the steep narrow road that passes above the railway.

Coming from Trieste (15km) turn right 1km before the natural tunnel above mentioned (the intersection is not easy to see).

Just after the aqueduct building park the car. On the right begins Via del Pucino (access forbidden on this side).
