Description
Ansedonia is a low-level crag, with a short approach, and located by the beach. The rock is a good and compact limestone, but unfortunately often soiled of the pigeon droppings. At now this crag offers only 7 routes recently re-equipped (two by Manuel Paparelli and the other ones by local climbers). Here you can find only the topos of these 7 good routes. The other ones (well recognizable by the rusted old bolts) are not good for climbing. The routes of the main area are on the left of the “Spacco della Regina”, that is a crack into the rock, that you can cross (with a flashlight) to visit three suggestive rooms carved into the rock.
Approach
FROM SOUTH: take the Aurelia road (E80) and exit at Ansedonia; then follow the signs to “La Strega” and “Spacco della Regina”. FROM NORTH: take the Aurelia road (E80) and take the second exit to Ansedonia (not the first!); then follow the signs to “La Strega” and “Spacco della Regina”. The cliff is by the sea, thus there are many parking spots. During the summer there parking spots are almost all in payment parkings, and offenders are liable to fines (pay attention!).
